“Split” is a desk featuring built-in storage. The front section of the desktop is hinged and opens to reveal an ample storage tray area. Plenty of room for a laptop, papers and other things you want to store.
The desk has a light and elegant look that fits into every home. The desktop is a clay-colored (melamine) on both the top and bottom surfaces. The edges are made of ABS, and are 2mm thick with a slight rounding. The basic core itself is an 18mm MFC plate. The board is classified as E0, which indicates the formaldehyde content of the material and its release. E0 is the lowest level, E1 is the legal requirement for indoor use.
MFC/Particleboard is both the material of the past and the future. There are good recycling percentages, because perhaps the material has been something in a bed, and in the next cycle it becomes something in a kitchen. Regardless, right now it's a tabletop, and it may be for a long time. Robust against wear, shock and liquids.
The entire desk is shipped in one box. The design and choice of materials where selected to make the CO2 footprint of the desk as small as possible without compromising durability, strength or visual expression.
